Born in Zurich, Switzerland to a Swedish mother and Swiss father, Jeffrey began his life growing up in Europe. After moving to New York in his late childhood, he became interested in film and went on to study film and photography at Syracuse University, NY and the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA.
After college, Jeffrey landed a job with SmashBox Studios and then Industrial Color. His assignments soon included shoots for leading fashion and consumer brands including Ralph Lauren, Veuve Clicquot, FX Channel, Starz, HBO, UNIQLO, Gillette and Guess. He assisted for world-renowned photographers like Annie Leibovitz, Kurt Iswarienko, Ellen von Unwerth, and Mark Abrahams on movie ads and fashion shoots with celebrities such as Sir Ben Kingsley, Josh Brolan, Drew Barrymore, and many more. For the majority of his career, Jeffrey has been based mainly in Los Angeles or New York, however his assignments have taken him to locations such as France, Spain, the Czech Republic, and Morocco.
As a freelance commercial photographer, Jeffrey’s high-end experience speaks through his work. He intuitively delivers unforgettable lighting, along side his strong attention to detail, giving hisportraitandproductclients a clean, cinematic edge to their images. In hisarchitecturalimagery, he delivers stunning visual presence, giving the viewer an epic sensation. As a fine art conservation photographer, Jeffrey explores organic objects as portrait subjects and captures landscapes in their moodiest existence. You may have seen his solo exhibitions at The Longboat Key Center for the Arts or Sarasota Orchestra.
With a new found passion for teaching, Jeffrey started Longhaus in the Fall of 2017 as a way of joining his enjoyment of food and travel with community and photography education. Students are drawn to his formal knowledge of both technology and art, as well as his high-end production background, as a basis for classes and workshops.
